In southern Estonia’s beautiful billowing landscape, near the famous sandstone wall “Taevaskoja” (means approx. heaven’s chamber) and some 45 km south of Tartu we find this rather simple, but comfortable cottage, well suited for those who want to rest in proximity to unspoilt nature. The stream Ahja some kilometer from the cottage is popular among canoeist (we can help organize canoes) and several hiking trails nearby take you to interesting and beautiful objects of nature, for instance the Kingdom of the Ants.
The cottage has a living-room and a sparsely equipped kitchen on the ground floor. The sauna is also on the ground floor, reached by the terrace. Hot water for shower and kitchen is produced by heating the sauna (by firewood) or the firewood oven in the kitchen. On the second floor (steep stairs) there is a another small living-room and 3 sleeping chambers, which are really small and basically only hold the double beds in them.
Although everything is somewhat simple or old-fashioned, it’s all in good condition and the overall impression is cozy simplicity. The price is also very attractive, you can even come two families together here, but the dining table is actually only for 6 people. There’s a childrens’ chair. Swimming is possible in Ahja stream some 4-5 km away and in Kiidjärve lake at the same distance.
The cottage is located in a small recreational area, with neighbors to the right and left of the cottage, but none behind it, behind it there’s a large garden and behind it begins the woods, open to all.
For those wishing to spend less money on the accommodation and still get a comfortable vacation with possibilities for activities in beautiful nature, this is real value for money.
